Rocketeer Decals are not well known in the UK, being a Japanese decal manufacturer, but have produced some interesting sheets to date. This sheet (RD72010) covers two different SR-71A's as follows:-
- 64-17967 from Det 1 of the 9th SRW on returning to Beale AFB around 1972. White markings with "Ichi Ban" on outer fins together with the number 1 superimposed over a snake;
- 64-17967, again from Det 1, 9th SRW, at Kadena AFB during 1978. Fin contains a yellow lightnight bolt over a large red number 1;
- 64-17975 from Det 1 of the 9th SRW at Kadena AFB during 1989. Small number 1 in red on the fin with a snake wrapped around it.
All aircraft are overall black with white and red markings.
Instructions comprise a double-sided A4 color copied sheet with left and right side views of each aircraft, together with a single top and bottom view.
The sheet is printed by Aviprint and is in perfect register with the exception of the yellow lightnight bolt for option 2 which does not appear sufficiently opaque on the decal sheet.
