Following the release of the new Revell C-54 Skymaster, Xtradecal provide markings for two US-related subjects on sheet X72234. The following US subjects are covered:-
- C-54G-5 36028 marked as "N12191" from Air America, based at Udon Thani RTAFB, Thailand during 1967. It was overall natural metal with "air america" in dark blue and "N12191" in black on the fuselage. These details appear to be in error, as N12191 was originally 45-619 and 36028 appears to be the manufacturer's sequence number - however this is also correct as 45-0619 carried sequence number 36072;
- VC-54 44-9117 from Washington ANG, seen at Haneda International Airport, Japan in July 1960. It carried Insignia White (FS17875) upper surfaces with Air Defence Command (ADC) Grey (FS16473) lower surfaces and natural metal engine nacelles. Tail maekings comprised "WASHINGTON" in Insignia Blue above an ANG crest with "0-49117" serials in black.
This sheet is designed for the Revell C-54 Skymaster and is in perfect register. It provides only the individual aircraft markings and "USAF", so the stencils will need to come from the kit.
Instructions comprise left and right side views of each aircraft together with upper and lower decal placement diagrams.
Whilst only a limited number of options are provided, they are interesting schemes.
