Wolfpak Decals sheet 72-098 "On Guard" provides markings for a selection of US Air National Guard subjects and includes an F-89J from the Iowa ANG, F-86Hs from the Maryland and New York ANG, A-7D from the Pennsylvania ANG, F-16C from the Oklahoma ANG and a C-27J from the Mississippi ANG. The aircraft are:
- F-89J-45-NO 52-2138 from the 124th FIS, 132nd FIG of the Iowa ANG at Sioux City, Iowa during 1968. It was painted overall ADC Grey (FS16473). The tail had a wide gloss Insignia Red (FS11136) tail band with a white stripe containing an ANG crest and unit citations. The outer fuel tanks were painted gloss Insignia red and the squadron badge was on the fuselage below the cockpit;
- F-86H-10-NH 53-1511 from the 104th TFS, during the Pueblo Crisis in 1968. It was painted in the South East Asian scheme, comprising dark green FS34079, medium green FS34102 and tan FS30219 upper surfaces with light grey FS36622 lower surfaces. It carried white "CT" tailcodes;
- F-86H-10-NH 53-1519 from the 138th TFS, New York ANG at Hancock Field ANGB during 1966. This aircraft was also painted in the South East Asian scheme and carried an ANG badge on the mid fin and "THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE" in white on the outer fuel tanks;
- A-7D-7-CV from the 146th TFS, 171st TFW of the Pennsylvania ANG at Pittsburgh IAP in October 1991. It carried a two-tone scheme comprising dark green FS34079 and grey FS36081. It carried a black tail band, outlined in yellow and containing "Pennsylvania" in yellow, with black "PT" tailcodes. The aircraft is depicted on its final flight to AMARC when it carried white chalk artwork on the starboard fuselage;
- F-16C-42D 88-0545 from the 125th FS, Oklahoma ANG at Tulsa ANGB during July 2016. It carried the new single-tone-grey scheme of FS36170 with markings in a lighter grey. It carried a red fin band containing "TULSA" in white, grey "OK" tailcodes and a large indian head on the fin;
- C-27J 09-27022 from the 186th AW, Mississippi ANG at Key Field in November 2012. It was painted in the delivery colors of Italian Grey FS36280 (incorrectly identified as FS36300 in the instructions) and carried a red tail band outlined in black with "MISSISSIPPI" superimposed, "MISSISSIPPI AIR GUARD" on the landing gear sponsons and with all other markings in black.
Instructions follow the usual format for Wolfpak - a side view of each aircraft, additional scrap views where necessary and small camouflage scheme drawings. Full history, color and weapons loadout information is provided.
The decals are printed by Fantasy Printshop in good register.
This is a great sheet with some very interesting subjects!
