 Haydn Hughes' Hobby Boss A-7K 79-0456   

 

 

 

This is one of the later A-7 schemes, and is two tone grey green. It is basically the European One scheme but with only one green and is provided courtesy of Don Color 

 

This is the first  scheme worn by the USAF A-7s (excluding the Navy Light Gull Grey / White scheme worn by some of the prototypes). It is the standard SEA scheme of GS34079, FS34102, FS30219 and FS36622.  The scheme is provided courtesy of Don Color.

After some time, the original SEA scheme was modified. The Light Grey on the underside was removed and the green/green/tan carried over onto the underside.  The scheme is provided courtesy of Don Color.

This is the last scheme worn by the A-7D, and is a semi gloss scheme of two greys - FS26118 and FS26270 (i.e. the same colors as on the F-16). Again, the scheme is provided courtesy of Don Color.

The 1/72 Hobby Boss family of A-7s are very nice, but suffer from one major inaccuracy - the nose intake is "squashed" and is oval in shape, when it should be more circular.  Nuno Andresen presents his solution, which is completely free!

Today we have a review of the new Double Ugly book on the A-7 in USAF and ANG service.  Werner Munzenmaier has produced a few books in the past, and this is one of his best!

 

 Another excellent release from WolfPak.  Mark Bilas continues to seek out interesting subjects for his sheets...  

 This new sheet covers most of the ANG units which operated the A-7K with the exception of the 4450th TG at Tonopah AFB 

Sheet 72-014 from Wolfpak Decals focusses on aircraft operated from RAF Mildenhall and also by the Ohio ANG.  It features 5 different types - the EC-135H "Silver Dollar", B-2A "Spirit", A-37B, A-7K "SLUF" and F-100D Super Sabre.

To say "thanks" to their customers, Wolfpak printed a special Christmas sheet which was only available to customers spending over $30, and is a limited run only.  It contains some very interesting subjects, including an F-16A from the 474th TFW, AS-7D from the 57th FWW, an HH-34J from the 304th ARRS and two C-130Es in trial camouflage schemes.

  Here we have Wolfpak Decals sheet 72-030.  This features some nice F-100, A-10 and A-7 markings as well as featuring a couple of MC-130s from an older sheet which is now discontinued
