Huddersfield Model Show This show continues to grow
and grow. I remember when they struggled to fill half
a hall - now it's bursting at the seams!
The SIG had its usual 4 table block (12' x 4'), but for
this show we decided to lay the display out differently.
Normally, we line everything up parallel with the front of
the display, and have 3 rows. This time we went
perpendicular so it looked like the aircraft were lined up
on the ramp. Whilst this meant slightly fewer
aircraft, it looked quite good!
We also had quite a number of new models. Graham
Bullock brought his latest offerings and a few other members
also contributed (let me know who you are and I'll amend
this!) I amazingly managed to complete 4 new models,
although admittedly 2 of them need a little finishing off.
My T-46A and Mystere are completely new and the T-6A Texan
II is now decalled and more or less complete. I also
finished an X-20 Dyna-Soar for the show and modelled it
piggy-back with my SR-75 Penetrator. I blame Haydn as
he suggested it!
We were the subject of a great honour, as the IPMS UK
Committee presented us with a Certificate of Achievement to
honour our display at the 2007 SMW - apparently it was the
largest single branch/SIG display ever put on - so THANKS!
to all of you who contributed.
Next show will be Hinckley ... looking forward to it!
