Glasgow model show
« on: October 14, 2007, 12:11:49 PM »
The Glasgow model show was held yesterday 12.10.07.
USAF models noted were the following.

First is a stretched C-130J based at Little Rock.

Next is a C-124C

Third is an XB-46, which had a few people asking what it was.

Lastly was a UH-19A Chickasaw with floats.

All models were in 1/72nd scale, and will form part of the display at Telford.

It's the Anigrand resin kit - there's a summary of Ted's build on the SIG website under the Order of Battle...

I must be missing something Chris isn't this the SIG website?  Where is the "Order of Battle"?  If it's here I have missed it somehow or is there another site?  Thanks  Joe

When did Littlerock get stetch Herks?

When I was there they were flying "E"s, "H", a few JC-130s and got in a few DC-130s they were supposed to convert into trash haulers.  That was back in the mid to late 70s.

I couldn't say exactly when they got them, but the model is based on an aircraft that was at the RIAT at Fairford in July. Also, it is a brand new aircraft (the pilot made a comment that it only had a few hours on the clock).
By the way, Phil and I don't like to mention Little Rock, due to an 'incident' we had there.

I won't ask.

That was one of my better assignments.  Even met my wife there.  SHe was a crew chief and I was one of the cops who broke up a squadron after work party they were having at the base lake.

Does that mean you're the man for info about Security Force vehicles?

I'm not sure what the current "Security Force"  is using.  When I was there we were called, among many other things that I don'y think I should list here, the Security Police.  That was back in the 70's.  I left there in Dec 1979 and ended up at Kadena.
