About me

I've been modelling on and off since I was 8 and have been dedicated to building for the SIG since I met Haydn at the last Stoneleigh show in 1992.  I tend to focus on one off schemes and unusual aircraft, rather than "line" aircraft.

My workbench

At present I have a 6' table in the living room which I use for building (yes, I do live on my own!!). I have a separate area set up upstairs for painting so I can work on a number of models at once.

I am working on a master plan for 2008 Scale Modelworld - this will consist of as many F-4 Phantoms as I can physically manage.  In addition, I am working on a batch of F-16's which will include 7 aggressor aircraft... Other models in progress include the L&F Models CT-156 Harvard II (being built as a T-6A Texan II), Dujin T-3A, KMC 727 (being built as a C-22B) and the Unicraft RQ-4A Global Hawk, although these are all very much on the "back burner" for now...

Current status is as follows:-

  • T-3A - final detailing
  • T-6A - final detailing
  • RQ-4A - basic assembly but now put aside (this one looks like it may not be finished in time!)
  • C-22B - I've given up on this for the Nationals - it's just too much work as the conversion from 727-200 to C-22A is quite a lot of work
  • 7x Hasegawa F-16C/D - one in final assembly (Virginia  ANG), 2 being painted and 4 almost ready for painting...
  • 2x Esci RF-4C's - one being painted, the other in basic assembly
  • 1x Hasegawa F-4C - 12th TFW F-4C in final assembly
  • 4x Fujimi F-4E/F/G - all in basic assembly

My models

I now have 40+ models completed, with a few more in long term storage at Wakefield's equivalent of Davis Monthan!  Below are links to the pages covering my built models - I will get the rest of these uploaded in due course...
